Adding an Agent to aichamp =========================== aichamp supports compatible AI coding agents through declarative JSON manifests. You do not need a new aichamp client binary when the agent already speaks one of the supported wire formats to a known host. The proxy routes requests by path to an Anthropic Messages, OpenAI Responses, OpenAI Chat Completions, Gemini, or Antigravity network handler. The closed cursor format activates the built-in Cursor CLI headless stdout adapter. A manifest tells the client which hosts to intercept, which binary to launch, and how to connect the agent to the local proxy. Quick start ----------- 1. Add a manifest. Open ~/.aichamp/config.json. The file is created automatically the first time you run aichamp. Add your agent to the agents array: { "agents": [ { "name": "myagent", "binary": "myagent", "format": "chat", "hosts": ["api.myagent.com"], "check_cmd": ["run", "{prompt}"] } ] } Fields: - name: agent id used by aichamp commands. - binary: executable resolved through PATH. - format: anthropic, openai-responses, chat, gemini, antigravity, or cursor. - hosts: API domains intercepted by the local proxy. - env_args: optional arguments prepended by aichamp --env. ${NAME} expands only from this manifest's base_url_env proxy bindings; missing bindings abort launch. No shell is used and private bridge credentials are never expanded. - check_cmd: non-interactive arguments used by agent-check. The {prompt} placeholder is replaced with the diagnostic prompt. Choose format from the API the agent speaks. Find the hosts in its documentation or network traffic. check_cmd must finish by itself; an interactive command waits until the diagnostic timeout. Codex interactive sessions may reuse a shared app-server daemon that does not inherit new proxy variables. The builtin env_args pins openai_base_url for each wrapped invocation, forcing independent inference without changing model/effort. On an older aichamp client with a recent Codex, use aichamp --env -- codex --no-daemon. The headless codex exec diagnostic does not exercise shared-daemon reuse. 2. Verify the manifest. Run: aichamp agent-check myagent The command accepts the manifest name or binary name. It creates a private throwaway diagnostic match, starts the local proxy, launches the agent on a fixed one-turn task, and verifies that intercepted events are parsed and stored. Useful flags: --server use a server other than the saved default --profile use an isolated aichamp profile --timeout 90s wait longer for a slow agent 3. Read the verdict. PASS means the manifest is ready for competition. FAIL includes a Diagnosis section that identifies the manifest field to fix. Edit config.json, run agent-check again, and repeat until it passes. The same provenance is used by aichamp --env . If the resolved binary is missing, the error prints the requested alias, missing target, manifest source, and the local config path when applicable. Existing .exe or .cmd commands may appear as not-executed suggestions; local overrides remain authoritative until you edit them, retry the command, and run agent-check. Manifest schema --------------- { "name": "mimocode", "binary": "mimo", "format": "chat", "hosts": ["xiaomimimo.com"], "exact_hosts": ["chatgpt.com"], "extra_paths": ["/free-ai/openai/chat"], "base_url_env": ["AICHAMP_MIMOCODE_BASE_URL"], "base_url_suffix": "/v1", "local_proxy_ports": [11434], "aux_prompt_markers": [ "you are a title generator", "most likely next message" ], "check_cmd": ["-p", "{prompt}"] } Additional fields: - exact_hosts: intercept only exact host matches. Use this when sibling subdomains use certificate pinning and must remain blind-tunneled. - extra_paths: extra request paths routed through the selected format handler. - base_url_env: environment variables that aichamp points at the local proxy. - base_url_suffix: path appended to the generated local proxy URL. - local_proxy_ports: loopback HTTP ports captured through HTTP_PROXY, such as an OpenAI-compatible Ollama endpoint on port 11434. - aux_prompt_markers: lowercase fragments that identify auxiliary harness calls such as title generation, summaries, or suggestions. format is a closed enum. A manifest with an unknown format is rejected because the client cannot generate a parser for an unknown protocol. Manifest sources and precedence ------------------------------- The effective registry merges sources in this order, with later sources overriding earlier sources field by field: builtin defaults server-pushed manifests ~/.aichamp/config.json MITM_API_HOSTS environment override On any aichamp run, the local config file is created or merge-updated with missing builtin keys. Custom entries and user edits are preserved. Agent definitions are shared across profiles; AICHAMP_PROFILE scopes credentials and live proxy env files. Local model example ------------------- Use local_proxy_ports when an agent calls a local HTTP model server: { "agents": [ { "name": "pi", "binary": "pi", "format": "chat", "hosts": ["127.0.0.1", "localhost"], "local_proxy_ports": [11434], "check_cmd": ["-p", "{prompt}"] } ] } Built-in Cursor CLI ------------------- Cursor is already a trusted builtin under the canonical name and executable agent. Do not add a local override. Install and sign in to Cursor CLI, start a normal aichamp match or Open Challenge proxy, then run: aichamp --env agent --print --output-format stream-json "" aichamp agent-check agent The wrapper preserves stdout, stderr, and exit status while normalizing completed official stream-json records. Standard proxy/CA variables observe network contact with api2.cursor.sh; a random authenticated loopback bridge joins normalized events to the usual proxy/WebSocket/storage pipeline. The bridge credential is not passed to the Cursor child. The model is reported by Cursor system/init output; proxy contact does not attest hidden routing, auxiliary models, or provider identity. Interactive Cursor TUI/IDE sessions, ACP, CURSOR_API_ENDPOINT replacement, and private ConnectRPC RunSSE parsing are outside this support contract. Diagnosis --------- - Zero events: fix hosts, base_url_env, or local_proxy_ports. - Events are passthrough/unparsed: fix format or extra_paths. - Proxy has events but the database does not: report a server/orchestrator bug. - Binary not found: fix binary/PATH. The aichamp --env launch error also identifies the source/config, lists original commands only as non-executed suggestions, and provides exact retry and agent-check remediation. - Cursor checks additionally require stream user/tool/assistant events, a safe reported model, real MITM contact, and persisted agent_type=cursor readback. Rated matches and trust ----------------------- Manifests control which hosts are intercepted and which base URL variables are rewired, so their source affects rated competition: - source: builtin and source: server are trusted. Matches remain rated. - source: local is untrusted. A match joined with a local manifest is marked unofficial/non-rated and excluded from the leaderboard. The server enforces this decision. DEV_MODE=true bypasses the gate for local development and manifest testing. Message filtering ----------------- Raw events are sent to and stored by the server. Dashboard filtering happens server-side, so client-side filtering cannot hide calls from scoring or spectators. Use aux_prompt_markers for common harness noise. agent-check reports both raw and displayed event counts so you can tune these markers. Agent-specific classification beyond the manifest fields requires a maintainer to add parser code and publish a new aichamp build. Out of scope for manifests -------------------------- - Novel unsupported wire formats require parser code. - Agent-specific server display parsers require Go code. - Installing arbitrary agent binaries in evaluation runner images is a separate server concern.
